ThThessaloniki KalamariaNea Krini is a different, perhaps more elegant proposal located on the eastern part of the city, approximately 25 minutes away from Thessaloniki's center. Some well-known and appreciated restaurants and fish-taverns can be found in the area, most of them located along the coastal avenue “Aretsou”.

Inspiring views and flavors

The view of the marina is really beautiful and relaxing, while it provides a nice opportunity to enjoy the majestic sunsets. Selected coffee shops like the “Animus” offer a fantastic view towards the sea. You can easily go to Kalamaria using the city’s ring road or by taking one of the bus lines available while of course, it is also accessible by boat.

It is generally considered one of the most interesting places, especially during the summer months. Prices are generally considered reasonable, although a number of coffee shops and restaurants are more expensive compared to the ones in the center of Thessaloniki.

The center of Kalamaria has several beautiful bars, cafe and shops. It is ideal if you wish to spend some time outside the center of Thessaloniki while part of it is accessible to pedestrians only.

Taking a taxi is not recommended because of the relatively high fees and the distance that needs to be covered. A really good solution would be to take the boat from the center of the city to Kalamaria and then Perea! If you wish to rent a car at the best prices available, click here!

Tip : The city’s biggest Mall “Mediterranean Cosmos” is just 5 minutes away from Kalamaria. It offers hundreds of shops, coffee shops, restaurants and multiplex cinemas. Many travelers prefer it as a last stop before Chalkidiki.
