From Prionia location we start our walk. A stunningly beautiful place, dominated by impressive rock faces and enormous mountain pine trees. A well paved path will take us up to 2100m and the refuge B or Spilios Agapitos. We’ll get there following a well paved path after a 3.00 hours walk, covering an altitude of 1000m.

Discovering the beauty of Olympus

Unique views down to Enipeas gorge and the Aegean Sea, as well as the high summits above, accompany us all the way up to the refuge. We give time to ourselves to feel the energy and atmosphere of this very special place, while exploring the endless history of this mountain. The refuge is situated on a natural balcony with amazing views all around!

After a good rest, a drink and a light lunch, we continue up to the higher parts of the mountain, closing the high summits. At about 2300m, we leave behind the last trees and move up in alpine terrain, aiming for Skala summit.

Once on Skala, after 2.30’ hours of challenging / demanding walk, we enjoy great views of the dominating rocky tower of Mytikas, the highest summit of the mountain and other impressive high summits.

Following the same route we’ll return to Prionia after an additional 3.30 to 4.00 hours period. An early start and meeting must take place at Prionia in order for this walk to be fully completed according to the schedule.
